What Elemo of Isolo says about Osolo’s 5th coronation anniversary

By BASHIR ADEFAKA

The Fifth Coronation Anniversary of the Osolo of Isolo, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, His Royal Highness Oba Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole, Osalade II, which ended on Tuesday June 13, 2023 will resonate for a long time in the history of Nigeria’s South West traditional community.

One of the Iare, who described his place on the Osolo-in-Council as of the Spokesman of the community, High Chief Ezekiel Ibukun Adetoyinbo while responding to questions by The DEFENDER, said the town has many reasons to consider the five years of its king on the throne a worthy event to celebrate.

He said, “I’m high Chief Adetoyinbo Ibukun Ezekiel, I give thanks to God Almighty for the successful hosting of the 5th Coronation Anniversary of our King, His Royal Highness Oba Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole, Osalade II, Osolo of Isolo.

“The 5th Coronation Anniversary is divine from God. Having looked at the issues that surrounded his installation and many challenges he encountered after installation, you will agree with me that it is worth celebration.

“Isolo people were in happy mood before, during and after the celebration, especially for the recognition of Osolo stool by the Ondo State Government of His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN). We are grateful to him and his cabinet members.

“The position of Elemo in the hierarchy of Osolo-in-Council is third-in-command.  He belongs to the Iare Group.  In the Osolo-in-Council, we have the Lisa, the Odopetu and Elemo.  They normally address him as Eketa Iare.

“Elemo is the mouth of the community, the Spooksperson and whatever you hear from him is the position of the entire community.

“Isolo has two festivals called Owayoko and Ogunajobo. These two festivals are celebrated every year bringing together sons and daughters of the town.

“I describe my handsome king, Kabiesi Oba Edward Adewole, as a courageous and workaholic, who loves his people so much and is very generous, easy going and not greedy at all.

“He carries everybody along in the decision-making of the town.  l pray that God will strengthen him and grant him wisdom to lead us to the promised land of our dreams in Jesus name, Amen. Thanks.”
