SALARY INCREMENT: IGP assures officers of Lagos Police Command of prompt implementation

*Gives updates on ongoing upgrade of police welfare

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has assured police officers in Lagos State Command that the recently approved salary increment by President Muhammadu Buhari will soon take effect.

This was disclosed by Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police in a statement obtained by The DEFENDER same Wednesday.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning and Supervising DIG for the Southwest geopolitical zone, DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, who represented the Inspector General of Police, further assured the officers that relevant government agencies including the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) and the Ministry of Police Affairs have reached final stages of computation of emolument details of all personnel of the Force.

According to Hundeyin, DIG Kokumo equally assured members of the Force that the issue of promotion was being looked into with a view to ensuring that deserving members of the Force get elevated accordingly.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, appreciated the IGP for allaying the fears and doubts of his officers and pledged a renewed dedication to duty.
