South China Morning Post: Putin enjoys significantly more support than Biden

Chinese columnist Alex Lo named some of the biggest mistakes he thinks Washington is making. He wrote about this in an article for the South China Morning Post .

In particular, the columnist notes, President Vladimir Putin is much more supported in Russia than Joe Biden is in the United States.

“American voters, who are facing significant increases in food and gasoline prices, are more likely to turn down Biden,” Lo said.

In addition, he considers the American strategy in relations with China to be wrong . In his opinion, Washington “realized the global strategic mistake too late” and is now trying to split the cooperation between Russia, China and Iran . Lo was also surprised by “US fairy tales” about the influence that Beijing could allegedly exert on Moscow with respect to a special military operation in Ukraine .

“The reality is that China, firstly, does not have such a choice, and secondly, it is unable to influence such decisions,” the journalist concluded.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”

As stated by the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops. With the support of the Russian military, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive . But the occupation of Ukraine is out of the question, Putin stressed.
