Cheering news from Nigeria’s Presidency, as VP Osinbajo tests negative of coronavirus

The Nigeria’s President has yet another cheering news with confirmation of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo having tested negative of the Coronavirus, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matter, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has said.

The first cheering news was when, following confirmation of the dangerous disease found in the seat of powers, President Muhammadu Buhari went for test and returned negative.

In a tweet Wednesday morning, Senator Ojudu, who works directly with the Vice President, said: “Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tests negative.”

Yesterday, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, said Osinbajo conducted his meetings via video conferencing while observing social distancing as he was in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols.

Fears had heightened about the Vice President’s coronavirus status after Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Buhari tested positive.

Kyari and Osinbajo sit together at the weekly Federal Executive Council meetings, now postponed indefinitely.

President Buhari has also tested negative for the virus.
