The Osun State Government has alleged a plan by some unnamed people to harass President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Osogbo on Tuesday.

The allegation was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adelani Baderinwa.

Buhari is expected to visit Osogbo Tuesday for the mega rally of the All Progressives Congress Governorship campaign.

The commissioner stated: “The attention of the Government of Osun has been drawn to grand plan by some unscrupulous elements in the state that are planning to harass President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Osogbo on Tuesday, 18th September 2018 for the Final Mega Rally of the All Progressives Congress Governorship campaign.”

“We want to bring this to the attention of the good people and security agencies. Security agencies in the state are hereby alerted on the evil plan of these unscrupulous elements.

“We urge the security agencies to forestall any act that could lead to breakdown of law and order in the state during and after the visit of the president.”

It will be recalled how the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose, being an opposition party member, incited the Ekiti State people against President Buhari ahead of his visit to the state for the mega rally of APC’s John Kayode Fayemi ahead of the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti.

It would also be recalled that the governor was alleged to have blocked the road to be taken into the state capital of Ado-Ekiti by the President on his way from Akure Airport.

Records however have it that all of those efforts proved abortive as the President’s refusal to be provoked led to the successes that APC eventually recorded during the day of the mega rally and subsequently at the election which produced his party’s candidate, Fayemi, as governor to be sworn-in come October 16, 2018.
