As if to say “this is what we have always expected to happen,” a great number of Nigerians jumped at the Monday morning broadcast speech of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying it has rekindled their hope in his administration.
Some of these people either thronged the Facebook wall of Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, or spoke to our correspondents in parts of the country.
On Monday morning, those who thronged Mr. Adesina’s wall did so to register their approval and joy over the new year broadcast speech of the President, saying the speech was the best of him in recent times.
Among those who put down their comments are Toye Olori, Prince Ade, Temitope Ajayi, Tat Iwo-Boi, and many others.
They spoke in the following order:
Toye Olori: “May God help you to achieve more. We know you are doing your best to bring Nigeria out of the woods despite uncalled for distractions. I wish you God’s protection and guidance PMB. Happy New Year to you and your team.”
Prince Ade: “Listening to Mr. President’s broadcast via radio this morning, I became more than assured that Nigeria is further in safe hands. TO WAILERS, MY NEW YEAR MESSAGE: We know you to be basically PDP or sympathisers of PDP. You have celebrated misfortune about the First Family and have even created controversies even where there is none. You said he stole NNPC’s non-missing, non-existing $25b just because you read or heard that Kachiukwu and Baru had misunderstanding. Your Femi Fani-Kayode jumped in the fire that nearly burnt his wiseless life to death when he emotionally posted on his Facebook wall that “Buhari sacked Christian Babachir David Lawal and replaced him with Muslim Boss Mustapha as SGF” only for him to know that he had goofed beyond redemption and quickly and tactically drop the useless thing coming from the useless thoughtless man run by emotion, ethnic, political manianism and religious jingoism who some say is (do they say he is) former minister of Nigeria. You recently made issue over Buhari’s age and few days later celebrated the accident of his son, although I do know that your end has come naturally as Allah has already stamped your punishment for celebrating Yusuf Buhari’s accident. Lately you are jumping up at list of some people who died after they had been nominated as board members and all of that and you have continued to cry on nonstop even after the Presidency that is deliberately producing you into a drama that you have senselessly because it already knows you to be a nonsensical set of elements in the Nigerian police space has explained to solve your problem. MR. PRESIDENT, MUHAMMMADU Muhammadu Buhari‘s NEW YEAR BROADCAST, I KNOW YOU WILL DESIGN YOUR OWN DIMENSION BUT FOR QUITE A LONG TIME, WILL SILENCE YOU FOR EVER UNLESS YOU DON’T PLY ON THE ROADS HE BUILT WITH OUR COLLECTIVE MONEY ON OUR BEHALF WHICH YOUR OWN LEADERS HAD STOLEN IN THE PAST ONLY TO PUSH YOU INTO AGITATIONS THAT MADE YOU BOMB OUR OIL RESOURCES THEREFORE PUSHING NIGERIA INTO RECESSION. Temitope Ajayi: “His best broadcast so far. He was at ease. The broadcast rekindled hope in his administration. Good job.”

In the same vein, a cross-section of Nigerians in Damaturu reportedly applauded the President’s broadcast speech on Monday saying President Muhammadu Buhari’s new year speech provides hope for accelerated infrastructural development.
Alhaji Usman Habibu, a retired civil servant, in Damaturu that government’s commitment to build roads and railways would enhance speedy development in the country.
“It is sad that these sectors were abandoned for decades. This contributed to the poor economic growth of Nigeria.”
He said providing railways would save roads and the huge resources used in maintaining them.
Mustapha Abdullahi, a civil servant, said the attention given to security was gratifying, adding, “the relative peace achieved, especially in the Northeast should be sustained.
Alhaji Bukar Makinta, a farmer, said government’s efforts to diversify the economy through agriculture and solid minerals development were impressive, adding, “this gives hope to agricultural development, food security and economic growth.”
Musa Garba, a politician, however, appealed for a working synergy between executive and legislative arms of government to improve the living standard of Nigerians.
