A member of Buhari Support Group and son of late icon of MKO Abiola, Nigeria’s democracy, Alhaji Jamiu Abiola, has commended the insistence of President Muhammadu Buhari on no-money election in coming general elections.

He said this on NTA Good Morning Nigeria, Tuesday.

“The preparation has been made for so many years no.  you know that we have a very, very capable chairman of INEC and I am glad that the preparations have been made and everybody is happy with it.

“Why we’ve been having bad elections in Nigeria is because they have always allowed money to play a role.  But now, President Buhari has done well for saying that he will not allow money of the state to be used for elections.

“The issue of voters accreditation and voting immediately is very, very commendable.  Time will be saved when we do the two processes together.”

Other guests at the programme acknowledged that the INEC, against the attempts to discredit it by some politicians, is good to go, noting the type of INEC now in the country had never been had before.

“We have not had this type of INEC we have now before.  Now, Nigerians are happy and willing to vote,” one of them, Esther Uzorma, said.
