Buhari sets up committee to audit FG’s policies, programmes, makes Osinbajo Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has set up a committee to audit the policies, programmes and projects of the Federal Government under his administration.

This was disclosed on in a statement issued by Olusegun Adekunle, Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the committee will be headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The committee’s term of reference includes to audit and determine the status of implementation of the policies, programmes and projects, either inherited or commenced in his first tenure.

President Buhari also asked them to identify and highlight the challenges that may affect the successful implementation of such policies, programmes and projects.

The committee is also to prepare a comprehensive working document that would guide the incoming members of the President’s cabinet on the direction of government

The committee also has Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President; some ministers; Winifred Oyo-Ita, Head of Civil Service of the Federation; and Godwin Emefiele, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), among others, as members.

The committee is expected to be inaugurated on Friday, March 23, 2019, by 3pm.
