Buhari inducts 62 pilot officers

President Muhammadu Buhari has charged 62 newly inducted Nigerian Airforce (NAF) Pilot Officers including one Togolese officer to protect the Nigerian Constitution and remain absolutely loyal to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Buhari spoke over the weekend at the Nigerian Airforce Base, Kaduna while performing the presidential commissioning of 62 Pilot Officers qho rgraduated from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 65 Regular Course.

Represented by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Buhari reminded the officers that this is the beginning of yet another challenging but rewarding career, as young officers in the Nigerian Air Force.

According to him, “I am confident that you will be able to cope with the demanding tasks ahead, given the quality of training that you have received. I therefore, congratulate all of you being commissioned today for withstanding the rigours of the training.

“As you might have known by now, the military profession which you have chosen requires absolute discipline, loyalty and hard work among other virtues. It is much more than just securing a job, especially at this crucial point in our national life where we are battling with the challenges of insecurity.

“You must be aware that you are expected to secure lives and property by ensuring that every Nigerian lives in peace and is free to pursue his or her legitimate aspiration.”
