The planned state visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Zamfara State has been cancelled.

Our Correspondent in Gusau reports that Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Mohammed Bello Matawalle, announced this cancellation of the heavily planned presidential visit to dignitaries, who have been waiting in for the arrival of the President.

The governor said it was due to bad weather that the President, who had earlier visited Sokoto State where he paid courtesy call on the Sultan of Sokoto and moved on to commission the BUA’s three million metric tonnes Line 4 Sokoto Cement Plant, had to put off the much awaited visit.

In his quick reply to a message by The DEFENDER, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed the unforseen development.

We learned further that President Buhari was, however, going to send a recorded voice to the people of Zamfara State over the cancelled visit.

Details later…
