Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has Friday arrived in Awe, Nasarawa State on a visit to the dethroned Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.

His Highness Sanusi was dethroned last Monday by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and banished first to Loko and later to Awe in the state where he had been kept amidst tight security.

Since he was dethroned, El-Rufai had given Sanusi two appointments.

Sanusi was first appointed into the Board of Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA) by El-Rufai, a day after he was dethroned and he is expected to serve as Vice Chairman of the board.

The governor also named him as Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU).

Sanusi succeeds the pioneer Chancellor, His Highness, Mallam Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro’a, who was appointed to the role in 2005.

Although The DEFENDER’s direct email to the HRH Sanusi on Thursday and another WhatsApp message to his Dan Buram Kano for the confirmation of his acceptance of the El-Rufai’s appointments were yet to be given replied as at press time, Governor El-Rufai’s Friday visit to and his reception by the deposed Emir, who is also the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been interpreted to mean automatic affirmation of Alhaji Sanusi’s acceptance of the offers.
