As at press time, The DEFENDER effort to verify the report was yet to be successful but we recalled that the Department of State Services (DSS) once released a statement alerting the public about plans by some elements to cause religious crisis through incitement in parts of the country particularly in the North.

Barely 10 days after a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Yakubu Samuel, was lynched to death over alleged blasphemy, another similar case has been reported in Bauchi State where one Mrs Roda Jatau was said to have shared a video in a WhatsApp group in which a convert ‘insulted’ the Prophet of Islam.

According to a source, Mrs Jatau works with the Bauchi State Primary Health Care and is originally from Gombe, but married in Warji local government area, a media report said on Saturday.

Already, crisis has been reportedly broke out in the woman’s area as Muslim youths were said to have mounted a search for the her immediately after Juma’at prayers on Friday, but could not find her because she had been whisked away to safety.
