Bill Gates and the wife are no scientists, they are no doctors, they don’t even know how vaccines or drugs are produced. All they do is fund research, help the scientists with funding and help to ensure that when produced, properly tested, and finally approved, that such vaccines or drugs could get to the poor nations who ordinarily wouldn’t be able to fund the procurement of such vaccines and drugs for their citizens.
By the way, Bill Gates and wife are not alone in this service to humanity. While their names are well known, for good or for bad, there are thousands of other billionaire philanthropists all over the world who are united in this same noble cause. Some of these other philanthropists give to causes more than the Gates.
Today, HIV patients live normal life all over the world including in Nigeria. Have you ever asked yourself the cost of anti-retroviral drugs, and how many HIV patients that can actually afford them especially being that they have to virtually depend on the drugs. Bill Gate and people like him gave these people life and hope again. Not you and I.
The same with polio, the same with people with other health issues.
Today, flying doctors, doctors without borders, and other humanitarian organizations are working in Africa and saving Africans, treating Africans free of charge….people like Bill Gates made these possible.
COVID-19 vaccines is not expected to be in use within the year, or in the earliest, by November this year. Yet, the world is waiting anxiously for the vaccine. Imagine a scenario where American company gets the breakthrough and produces it, do you ever think that the number produced would serve the American population, not to talk about reaching Africa and Nigeria in the next 5 years?
WHO, world leaders, and world philanthropists have just united to ensure that whichever vaccines and drugs approved could be mass-produced and made to reach all corners of the earth, equitably, and at the same time.
Yet, those who can only benefit see only mischief and evil in those who are putting their hard-earned resources to this course.
By the way, as children, our parents immunized us and vaccinated us, often free of charge. The programs were made possible by the Bill Gates of those days. If our parents refused their gifts, and confused themselves with conspiracy theories they couldn’t grasp, I wonder what would have happened to you and me.
Our attitude is, in no way, different from the attitude of poor villagers who always believe that the benevolent wealthy man among them who always helps them out when they cry for help, shares rice and kills cows for them when it is Christmas, does that just to “steal” their bright stars.
And you wonder…. what is this their star sef? Lol
