The Zamfara State Government is to use dual approach to peace and security in tackling banditry in the state.
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Bala Bello, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting, chaired by Governor Bello Matawalle.
He said the government would use carrot and stick method because, according to him, the bandits that have accepted the peace approach are of great help to the fight against banditry.
Bala Bello said the government was fully committed to peace efforts based on the resolutions reached during the meeting with stakeholders including the security agencies.
He said state government would continue to accept the repentant bandits and encourage others to repent.
