*Salutes Kashim Shettima as Vice President-elect

There can be no other way to describe the victory of Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last presidential election than to say it was a fate accomplished, Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Dr. Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, said in a statement in Lagos, on Wednesday.
Bambado II, who is the Chairman, South West Council of Fulani Chiefs, said it was gladdening to the heart that Tinubu “has simply convinced the least believer that the electoral victory was destiny matured to hatch”.
This was moreso despite the odds mounted by factors of ethnic and religious weaponisation, winning the keenly contested presidential election
He congratulated the President-elect and prayed that Allah would grant him the moral capacity, spiritual wisdom and wherewithal to steer the ship of world’s most populous black nation he is about to sail.
“In my capacity as the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Chairman, South West Council of Fulani Chiefs and on behalf of all Arewa community in Lagos, of which I am Vice Chairman, I congratulate His Excellency Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his well deserved electoral victory and as President-elect.
“Let Asiwaju be rest assured that the majority of Hausa-Fulani community, who worked asidously hard that ethnic and religious weapons fired on his way to victory were rendered ineffective, will sustain their support for him until he says enough,” Bambado II said.
He, however, admonished the President-elect to ensure that no Nigerian, as an individual, ethnic or religious community, is shortchanged under his reigns.
Speaking further, the monarch addressed the Tinubu directly in the statement saying, “The reason for government is to administer the affairs of mankind on the surface of the earth, as divinely designed by Allah.
“So, as President and Commander-in-Chief that you will soon become on May 29, administer Nigerians’ social welfare and ensure that no individual or group of persons shall be too powerful, in disturbing the peace of the land, that your government cannot bring to the ground.
“Under your administration, do not give chance for stoking of religious and ethnic hate, talk less that you will now need human, financial resources, and military assets to start prosecuting war.
“Do not give chance to any appointed Minister or aide to mess you up with his inability to perform. Develop and apply the political will of firing and replacing in matter of governance. Any one, who has been appointed but fails to deliver must be fired and held responsible and accountable. That way, his replacement will learn how to be patriotic public officer in service to the nation.
“Under your administration, the police, other security and safety agencies must be prepared to work, and every personnel must justify the investment in him and must lead by example to build as well as instill discipline, trust and confidence in members of the public to be well behaved.
“With all of these in place, I assure you that we will support you to make a successful administration that will unite all Nigerians for the nation to be great again.
“I congratulate you once again and say Barakallahu fika. Allah bless you, amiin,” he prayed.

In the meantime, Sarki Bambado II has congratulated the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, who the monarch described as sincere partner in progress.
“I commend Your Excellency. You did well as two-governor of Borno State, as Senator of the Federal Republic and, now, I have no doubt in my mind that you will do much better as second in command with whom the ship of this nation will be sailed to greater heights soonest.
“I congratulate you on your joint electoral success with the President-elect, as I wish you all the best in your new office to come.”
