The Army Council, on Thursday 21 December 2023, approved the promotion of senior officers to the next ranks of Major General and Brigadier General respectively.
A total of 47 Brigadier Generals have been promoted to the rank of Major General, while 75 Colonels have also been elevated to the rank of Brigadier General accordingly.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja congratulates the newly promoted senior officers and their families. He has also charged them to redouble their efforts to justify their elevation and the confidence reposed in them.
