The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the immediate recommencement of the Continuous Nationwide Membership Registration exercise in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Yekini Nabena, disclosed this in a statement he issued in Abuja on Wednesday, copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER.
The decision, Nabena explained, “follows calls from members of the public interested in joining our great Party to support the Change Agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration.”
According to the statement, “The exercise will include both fresh registrations and revalidation of existing membership for the purposes of issuance of the Party’s permanent membership cards.
“We hereby urge our teeming supporters and members to take advantage of the exercise,” it said.
This was one of strategies employed by the ruling APC as an opposition which formed part of its ability to measure its performance against the all-powerful Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2015 general elections that produced President Muhammadu Buhari.
