The All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the joyous occasion of his 24th year on the throne.

This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja and sent to The DEFENDER by National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

According to the statement, the Party joins indigenes of Kwara State, the Ilorin Emirate, associates of the Emir and the state government in celebrating the royal father.

“Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari ascended the throne as the 11th Emir of Ilorin on November 11, 1995. He was a lawyer and jurist before ascending the throne.

“Traditional rulers have the important roles of interfacing between the people and the state in promoting the welfare of their subjects and being the custodian of cultures and ethos of their respective societies. Alhaji Sulu Gambari has excelled in these roles over the last two decades and four years.

“The Party celebrates the Emir of Ilorin for his exemplary service to the ancient city of Ilorin. We note in particular how his outstanding leadership qualities have brought communal harmony and peace to the Ilorin Emirate and indeed, Kwara State.

“The party prays Almighty Allah continue to grant the Emir of Ilorin good health, long life and wisdom to lead the great people of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement said.
