The matriarch of Alhaji Kola Animashaun family, Alhaji Siliphat Modupe Kola Animasaun, has congratulated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his two election-related successes in 45 days, namely inauguration as president of Nigeria and Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS).

President was declared president in the February 25, 2023 presidential election and was successfully inaugurated on May 29. In a unanimous decision, he was elected on Sunday July 9 at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS held in Bissau, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau’s capital.

Although she congratulated the President in February, Alhaja Animasaun, wife of late Chairman Editorial Board of Vanguard Newspapers and friend of new Nigerian Leader, considered it necessary to show solidarity with Tinubu especially as over 15 countries of West Africa put heads together and pushed him forward as their next Chairman succeeding the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo.

She called on Nigerians to “let’s rally behind the new President because, no matter what our differences and circumstances of the elections are, the truth remains that we have a country that we want to build and which we must all jealously guard and protect.”

Elder cousin to late former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji Kola Animasaun prayed that Nigeria would not collapse in the time of the President and that the dreamed country Nigerians look forward to will be realisable.
