The Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, says all is set for the take off of the newly created 33 Local Council Development Areas in the state.

The commissioner spoke on Wednesday when he paid assessment visit to the Akure West LCDA.

His first point of call was the palace of Iralepo at Ita-owa in Isinkan where residents had gathered since 8 in the morning.

The arrival of the commissioner and his team at about 7 in the evening was the tonic needed as the Isinkan Monarch, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, Chiefs, Olus and residents leaped for joy.

Politicians from various political parties from wards one, two and three making Akure West LCDA were not left out.

Addressing the joyous gathering, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro said the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is eager to see the LCDAs take off.

He said the assessment of the LCDAs was part of implementation processes and assured that in the next two weeks the LCDAs would be up and running.

Alhaji Takuro said government acceded to the request of Isinkan people by creating Akure West LCDA and gave Isinkan Monarch Pat on the back for being dogged and maintaining peace in his domain.

While saying Governor Akeredolu is determined to complete all projects embarked upon, Alhaji Takuro said all the LCDAs have come to stay as all legal frameworks have been perfected.

He expressed confidence in the growth of the council areas which would in turn bring about socio-economic transformations.

The Iralepo, Oba Olofin-Adimula thanked the state Governor for always being on the side of truth and justice.

“It takes a man with courage and one who believes in truth, equity and justice like our amiable Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN to do this for us.”

“The people of Isinkan have been yarning for the creation of this LCDA for long. Governor Akeredolu isn’t the first governor in Ondo State, some others couldn’t do what he has done for us and our generation yet unborn. Within a twinkle of an eye, he acceded to our request. This is the miracle of the century. We ‘ll never take it for granted.” The Iralepo said

He called on the state government panel looking into the issue of lands in Isinkan kingdom to expedite action.

“This LCDA (Isinkan) is the fastest growing part of the state and we wish to use this opportunity to once again bring to the attention of government the ruinous and provocative acts of trespaasers and land speculators whose activities we have brought to the attention of Government several times.”

“We observe that the committee set up by Government to look into the matter is yet to take off and we urge that urgent steps be taken in that direction.” He added

The Isinkan Monarch later led the commissioner and his team to the site of the Akure west secretariat at Igboyeye, Isinkan beside Saint Louis Girls Grammar School.

The commissioner expressed satisfaction with the site and said “Akure west LCDA is ready for take off.”
