“Akpabio, you are the one that fuel people’s anger to protest, we hold you responsible” – CPD

The Coalition for Parliamentary Democracy (CPD) has launched a scathing attack on Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of exacerbating the ongoing economic protests across the country.

According to the CPD reported by Vanguard news, Akpabio’s recent comments have fueled public anger and portrayed him as out of touch with President Tinubu’s agenda.

They claims that “Akpabio’s comments, suggesting that protests continue while the government remains indifferent, fueled public anger and portrayed him as out of touch with President Tinubu’s agenda,” said a CPD spokesperson.

“It is unfortunate that our Senate President has chosen to ignore the suffering of Nigerians and instead, pour fuel on the fire,” it said.

The CPD is urging Akpabio to take a more nuanced approach to addressing the economic crisis facing the country.

The organization believes that the Senate President should work with other stakeholders to find solutions to the issues plaguing the country, rather than simply dismissing the concerns of protesters.

The nationwide hunger protests, which began several weeks ago, have seen thousands of Nigerians take to the streets to demand relief from the economic hardship gripping the country.

The protests have been met with violence and brutality by security forces, resulting in several injuries and fatalities.

The CPD is calling on President Tinubu to take immediate action to address the economic crisis and ensure that the rights of protesters are protected.

The organization believes that the government has a responsibility to provide for the welfare of its citizens and to ensure that their voices are heard.

As tensions continue to escalate, many are calling for calm and for all parties involved to engage in constructive dialogue.

With the economy in shambles and public anger at an all-time high, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming days.
