Again, showers of appreciation on Akeredolu, as Isolo celebrates king on 5th coronation anniversary

*As Osolo installs new chiefs

*Says first flyover in Akure South situated in Isolo sign of development coming

To the Isolo people of Akure South, Ondo State, South West Nigeria, it is continued appreciations as they currently celebrate the fifth coronation anniversary of their king, the Osolo of Isolo,  His Royal Highness Oba Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole Osalade II.

 

The elongated anniversary, which commenced on Tuesday 6th June, 2023 with visitations to notable public places including the special market centres and health centre in Isolo town, continued on Wednesday with installation of three chiefs at the Owa chamber of the Osolo’s Palace.

The DEFENDER reports that the first point of call during the visit, according to Ayomide Michael, Special Assistant to the Osolo on Media and Administration, was the Isolo Comprehensive Health Centre, where the king was conducted around by the Matron, Mrs Adetoyinbo, who is also an Isolo chief.

Like his people have alwats done, Osolo Adewole, having completed his inspection of the health facilities, appreciated the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN) “for uplifting Isolo kingdom and provision of solar power to the health centre.”

Oba Edward Adewole further noted the need for improvement of the health facilities such as building of staff quarters, more patient wards and specially made case for posting of doctors to the Isolo Comprehensive Health Centre.

Also on Tuesday,  the Osolo and his entourage had visited the popular butcher (spare parts dealers) market popularly called Onyearugbulem Market, they were warmly welcomed by the spare parts dealers.

At the market, the Osolo admonished the businessmen to be more coordinated and ensure interactions devoid of chaos.

The peak of the visitation event on Tuesday was the flagging off of Isolo Ogun Festival, which first rite was performed at the traditional Ogun shrine at Ogun Ajobo, Shagari Village in Isolo.

It was therefore inaugurated as annual Ogun festival, the performing of the traditional Ogun rites shall be on the 6th June and Isolo Ogun festival will be 7th June of every year.

The weeklong fifth coronation celebration continued on Wednesday as the Osolo confered chieftaincy titles on three prominent individuals at his palace.

The three new chiefs included Mr Fadumiye Segun (Ifayemi fatoki), who was installed as Adifase of Isolo Kingdom; Mr Oluwanisolo Adebayo, installed as Owakuati, a high chief of Isolo Kingdom and Mr Opeyemi Afolabi Dada, who was installed as Gbobaluyi of Isolo Kingdom.

Remarkably, the Wednesday’s chieftaincy installation event was graced by two royal fathers from Ekiti State namely the Olohan of Erijiyan Ekiti and Arajaka of Igbara Odo, as well chiefs and people from all walks of life.

After the installation of Chief Gbobaluyi of Isolo, kingdom, his Club known as The Men’s Club of Akure, through the chairman, promised to install solar light in parts of Isolo township.

For a start, the club presented two solar powers to thepOsolo’s Palace.

Oba Adewole expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the club for its gesture, noting that new things have started springing up in Isolo town, citing example of the first fly-over in Akure South situated in Isolo town.

The coronation celebration this Thursday until next week.
