“I remember in that bedroom of the President when I told him ‘I come to tell you, you will be President and this is the way it will take place and to work, I will excuse myself completely to give room to others…I move the motion at Eagle Square. He became President. Now my mouth is smelling,” Pastor Bakare, like having his own turn after Father Mbaka, said about the President before he finally met him in his rock of power, Abuja on Friday.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday received in audience the founder of the Citadel Global Community Church (formerly Latter Rain Assembly), Pastor Tunde Bakare, behind closed doors at the statehouse, Abuja.

While details of the meeting remain unclear, it may not be unconnected to the Pastor’s recent calls for more unity in the country.

The DEFENDER reports that Tunde Bakare, in a video that went viral on social media, had during a Church service threatened to storm the political space of the country with a ‘Nigeria for Nigerians Movement’ to rescue the country from whom he described as “Commander-in-Chief of nothing”.

Tunde Bakare was vocal and not ambiguous that his message was clearly an attack directed at President Muhammadu Buhari when he said:

“It’s about to start. I am going to champion it. It’s going to go round this nation like wide fire. ‘Nigeria for Nigerians’ Movement. It will be bigger than Safe Nigeria Group. You have never seen anything like it before. It’s a movement propelled by God. Nigeria for Nigerians to deliver us from the hands of the oppressors. It’s a fight to finish. I’m not going to die for this country. I’m going to live for it. Nigeria will prosper in my life time. Nigeria will be safe. Nigeria will become great. It is the wicked that the land will vomit. Somebody say WAR!” He fumed.

The Buhari’s former running mate of the Congress for progressive Change (CPC) era had continued, saying, “The people said: To your tent oh Israel.”

He said: “We have no portion in the hands of Jesse anymore. Sovereignty is not in your hands. You are Commander-in-Chief of nothing except the people put you there. The highest office in the land is the office of the citizens not the office of the President. Nigerians are going to rise, they are going to demand for their rights. Nigeria for Nigerians Movement! In the name of Jesus!”

Pastor Bakare then threw a challenge: “And I dare you to try to stretch your hands against me like you have done to others. Then you will know whether God sent me or I’m just empty or I’m just making noise.

“Nigeria for Nigerians Movement! The time to save this country is now. The government cannot save us. The military cannot save us. Nigerians should rise up and demand for what is rightfully theirs.

“Get out of my way. This is the last warning, get out of my way. I loved you. I served you. I respected you. I did everything to make it work for you but you turned against me and God has turned against you. Get out of my way.

“Time has come for the truth to be spoken. I am not holding dialogue with anybody anymore. I will not come to you. You will come to me because it is war. I only respect people.

According to another media report, last Sunday, he had urged President Muhammadu Buhari to do away with the 1999 Constitution, saying it is a great inhibitor of the nation’s progress.

He made the call during a state of the nation address which he titled: ‘The black box of Nigeria’s politics’.

He said, “Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Mr. Gorbachev eventually did, and Germany is better off for it today.

“In the same spirit, I say to President Muhammadu Buhari: Mr President, stop passing the buck to the National Assembly. Tear down this inhibiting concoction of a constitution; tear it down so we can build a truly great nation”.

During the same church service, Pastor Bakare reportedly announced the launch of the Nigeria for Nigerians (N4N) movement.

According to him, the movement became imperative because it is time for Nigerians to take the reins and direct their nation’s destiny.

He was a running mate of the Buhari under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011.
