Ifetedo Unique Brothers’ Club offers free medical services as kingdom celebrates Day

The Ifetedo Unique Brothers’ Club, an association of distinguished sons of Ifetedo community – headquarters of Ife South Local Government Areas of State – has announced a medical outreach programme to support this year’s celebration of the kingdom’s annual festival.
Called Annual Ifetedo Day Celebration, the event is a festival of the Yoruba community’s traditional leader under His Royal Majesty Oba (Barr) Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, Latiiri I, the Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom.
The club is collaborating with organisers of the Day under Comrade Kehinde Egbabon, Chairman of the 27th Ifetedo Day Celebration, Bishop Albert Adewole, President, and Prince Adeoye Tiamiyu, General Secretary, respectively, of the National Ifetedo Progressive Union (IPU), contributing the medical outreach programme, according to a notice jointly signed by the Club’s President, Unique Adewunmi Adegbite, and Secretary, Unique Olayinka Kolajo.
In a media interview also, Unique Adegbite explained that, “The event is one of our Club’s objectives to collaborate with Ifetedo community during our Annual Ifetedo Day Celebration to freely provide essential health services to 200 beneficiaries, which cut across all residents in our community, regardless of their faith and background. This our 1st Health Outreach program, by his grace, is continuous.
“This first edition includes blood pressure, rapid diagnostic test for Maleria, glucose level test, RVS, weight check and general medical consulting,” he said.
Speaking on where the Ifetedo Day Celebration comes to connect with his club, Adegbite said, “Annual Ifetedo Day Celebration is a yearly programme organized under the leadership of National Ifetedo Progressive Union, which comprises all sons and daughters of our heritage spread all over the world coming together to celebrate our Rich Cultural Heritage, and this year marks the 27th edition under our royal father HRM Barr. “We use each year edition for developmental purposes, where each group, club and association supports the committee in line with their mission statement. That is why our club under my leadership deems it fit that our community must be medically fit before proceeding for celebration enjoyment.”
On the place of Ifetedo in Yoruba Land and how his club is collaborating with the IPU, he said, “Ifetedo is a township community that headquarters of Ife South Local Government Areas of Osun State Nigeria, about 45 kilometers Northwest of Ile-Ife. The town was founded by great warriors from Oke Igbo in 1931.
“Cultural Significance: Ifetedo is known for its rich cultural heritage, including Egungun,Ogun god of Iron, Aluku, Oro traditional festivals, music, and art. The town is home of Harmony and Peace.
“Geographical context: Ifetedo is nestled in the heart of Yoruba Land, surrounded by other notable towns like Oke Igbo, Ondo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa and Osogbo.
“Yoruba Kingdom Hierarchy: Ifetedo is classified as an “Obaship” (monarchy) under the Yoruba kingdom hierarchy, with the Olubosin of Ifetedo as its traditional ruler’s title
“Language: The primary language spoken in Ifetedo is Yoruba, specifically the Ifetedo dialect.
“Economic Activities: Ifetedo is primarily an agricultural town, with farming and timber being the main occupation. The town is also known for its trading and artisanship crafts, such as woodcarving and pottery.
“Demographics: Ifetedo has a population of approximately one to two million people spread over our villages, with a mixture of Christians, Muslims and traditional worshippers.
“Education: Ifetedo has several schools, primary, secondary schools and the Osun State University’s Ifetedo Campus, Faculty of Legal studies.
“Ifetedo plays an important role in Yoruba history, culture and tradition. Its rich heritage and strategic location make it a significant part of Yoruba Land.
“The National Ifetedo Progressive Union is a vital part of Ifetedo, with branches spanning the globe where our esteemed sons and daughters reside. As beloved children of our Royal Father, we are united in our love and loyalty to our Kabiyesi.
“In line with our monarch’s vision for education, healthcare, security and overall development, the Ifetedo Unique Brothers’ Club is proud to organize a Free Medical Outreach program for our community.
