Shyllon endows Crescent Varsity E-Law Library

*Gbemisola, Williams to receive honorary awards as 16th convocation holds Oct 19

Crescent University Abeokuta will be honouring the trio of Prince Yemisi Shyllon, Promoter of Omooba Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon Art Foundation; Aare Tomori Williams, the Aare of Onikoyi of Yoruba Land and Mr Kabir Gbemisola, Group Managing Director of FATGBEMS Group of Companies, with Doctor of Science Honoris Causa at its 16th Convocation on Saturday 19th October, 2024.

This was according to a statement issued by Mr. Idris Katib, Senior Assistant Registrar, Public Relations, Crescent University Abeokuta, Nigeria, sent to The DEFENDER on Wednesday October 9.

“They will be honoured in recognition of their huge contributions to the development of different sectors of the economy as well as commitment to the development of Crescent University,” the statement said.

It said “part of the activities of the programme will be the unveiling of the multimillion Naira E-Law Library endowment of Prince Shyllon as part of his contribution to the corporate social responsibility of the prestigious institution.

“Earlier, Aare Tomori Williams, who on a campus tour visit to the university ahead of his conferment expressed his satisfaction to the Proprietor/Chairman Board of Trustees, Prince Mahruf Adesegun Ajibola SAN and other members of the university management including the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, Registrar, Barr. Zakariyya Ajibola and Chairman, Ceremonials Committee, Dr Kola Adesina, on the pace of development of the institution’s infrastructure.

“His entourage was received by students from Law, Nursing and other programmes across all facilities of the university.”

In a similar development, an oil business mogul, Mr Kabir Ajibola Gbemisola, was delighted to receive his letter of conferment from the vice chancellor.

Receiving the vice chancellor’s team in his home in Abeokuta, Gbemisola promised to support the university on its way to the top.

Gbemisola will be receiving the Doctorate of Science Honoris Causa award in recognition of his contributions to the development of human capacity and education.
