Another Nigerian activist, Sowore, arrested by Tinubu govt on return from US

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested popular activist and politician, Comrade Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore was said to have been arrested upon his return to Nigeria. The activist’s arrest was confirmed by fellow activist, Deji Adeyanju on Sunday September 15, 2024.
Adeyanju said, “SOWORE was arrested by the jobless and lawless Nigerian government for calling for an End to Bad Governance protest,” he said.
Also, Saharareporters reported: “NewsFlash: DSS Arrests Sowore Upon Arrival To Nigeria After Order By New DSS Boss.”
Recall that Sowore had revealed that the Nigerian security forces were attempting to track him down in his hometown in Ondo State.
The former presidential candidate claimed that security agencies were plotting to frame him as guilty of bogus offences.
He had disclosed this via his verified Facebook page on Saturday September 14.
Sowore said, “Yeah! All around in my home town, they’re tryin’ to track me down, yeah! They say they want to bring me in guilty.
“However Babylon must fall! #FearlessInOctober.”
Recently, a convener of Ibeju-Lekki Peoples Forum was invited by DSS because for being part of a suit by De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, a socio-cultural organisation for the state indigenes, against Lagos State government
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his government and two others had been sued after they failed to reply a letter by tge Foundation demanding information about the $100 million, which Alhaji Aliko Dangote claimed he paid to the Lagos State Government in exchange for 7,000 acres of land taken from the Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos natives and said to have been to him for free to build his refinery, until it became clear he paid, without owners being compensated.
The comrade however told the secret police that he and his deprived people have every right to su the state government and that they could not be intimidated.
Lawyer to the parties, Yakubu Eleto Esq, had expresed concerns that Sanwo-Olu led government of the state would resort to using the DSS to intimidate his clients whereas it should provide answer to their questions of whether Dangote truly paid tge said amount, to whose account, handled by wo and what the money was used for.
Days before that, SERAP office was occupied by DSS in Abuja and President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, was arrested by DSS at tge Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to attend an international labour conference in London, United Kingdom.
Ajaero was released after he had already missed the chance to travel for the All important official assignment abroad.
