Even as there are various claims on the motive of the Goronyo troops deployment, the move is widely believed to be connected to a recent booing of the Governor of the State, Ahmed Aliyu, during his distribution of relief materials to IDPs.

Sporadic gunfire dominated Goronyo town, Headquarters of Goronyo Local Government in Sokoto State as a combination of men of various security agencies take over the rural community early morning of Wednesday.
