Lagos popular Islamic scholar and presenter of Wole Ola Islamic programme on Murhi International Television and Radio Nigeria’s BOND FM stations, Amir Qamardeen Ajala, has added his voice to plot by some politicians hiding under the Allah-made Sokoto State Government to carryout the unthinkable act of dethronement of the Supreme Leader of the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, as the Sultan of Sokoto.
Amir Ajala, who is the Director of Markaz Dawati Ila llahiIslamic Centre and a Lagos Island Chief Imam, decried the plans of the government people for failing to be true Muslim but choosing to allow political interest overrule their Islamic conscience hence the thought of the unthinkable.
He spoke via a statement dated June 25, 2024 and circulated to the media Tuesday night.
Per adventure the Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, and his team do not know the worth of their Caliphate in the eyes of the world, the Lagos Islamic scholar said, “The Sultan of Sokoto has been a symbol of unity among the Muslims in Nigeria in the area of Moon Sighting preparatory for Ramadan, which is vital religious exercise that had always been a major challenge until his ascension tobthe throne on November 2, 2006.
“Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar’s administration as the Sultan of Sokoto has equally ensured a long standing record of non-collision of sacrifice on Eid-el-Adha day with the day of Arafah nationwide. This indeed is worthy of commendation.
“Equally, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar is an entity and a leader that symbolizes peace on religious matters. That office and its past and current holders have never performed below expectation.
“The position of the Sultan of Sokoto is religious and not political just like the Sultan is leader not only of Sokoto but of entire Nigerian Muslim Ummah. So, the drum for removal of the Sultan is politically motivated and a ploy to cause disunity among the Muslims in Nigeria.
“In conclusion, we vehemently stand against any such move that will threaten the peace, harmony and unbroken relationship that exist among the Muslims in our dear country, Nigeria. #Long Live Islam! #Long Live Sultan of Sokoto!! #Long Live Mujammad Sa’ad Abubakar!!!”
