Olorogun urges alignment of ex-APC members with PDP

The political development in Delta State appears to be moving in the direction of alignment and realignment, as prominent figures in the state have make decision to switch their allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Among them are a former Vice Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Hon. Matthew Ofioguma, former Special Assistant to the Governor, Victor Alibor, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP)’s House of Assembly Candidate in the 2023 election in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Gift Moke, and their followers.

Their decision to go to the PDP they said, was influenced by the leadership of Ekakpamre Ward, particularly spearheaded by Olorogun Gordons Okomitie, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters.

Other key figures involved in this move include Olorogun Patrick Onajophe (aka Manager) SSA on Community Development, Chief Mrs. Victoria Djowha, immediate past Vice Chairman, Ughelli South Local Government Council, Chief Aghogho Okpogbodu, Mr. Isaiah Ahwerhurho, and several others.

Prior to their defection, Olorogun Samson Okomitie, in an appeal to the former APC members, emphasised the importance of aligning with the dominant political force in the ward.

He noted that the formal defection of the leaders to the party at the Local Government and State levels will be announced soon.

According to him, the strategic shift is expected to have a significant impact on the political landscape in the region, with implications for upcoming elections and governance.

The move underscores the dynamic nature of politics and the continuous realignment of interests and alliances within the state.
