Gov Ododo told us election materials were sent out before representatives of other aspirants arrived – Rotimi Ogunleye

The Director General of Olusola Oke Campaign Organisation, Mr. Rotimi Ogunleye, has alleged that the Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was Chairman of the Ondo State APC Primary Election Committee, had claimed that some election materials were sent out before representatives of other aspirants arrived at the party secretariat on Saturday 20th April 2024.

He stated that the party members questioned how materials could have been dispatched in the absence of electoral officers, who were responsible for removing the materials from the secretariat premises.

Ogunleye argued that the APC primary election was not conducted because the materials were not dispatched.

He claimed that he and others arrived at the party secretariat around 7:00am and that it was until they registered their displeasure about election materials not being distributed before Governor Ododo attended to them.

He said in an interview with Channels Television that, “They told us to come and get voting materials that will be distributed to the electoral officers from the secretariat. So they mandated us to come there by 7:00 am. As law-abiding party members, we were there by 7:00 am, and behold, it was around 9:00 am that we started getting worried. If you are not distributing election materials by 9:00 am and these election materials are going to 18 Local Governments of Ondo State.

“There are some local governments that you have to travel for like two to three hours before you get there. It was after we started showing our displeasure that the Chairman of the election, Governor Ododo emerged from the Hotel. Governor Ododo came around 9:00 am and he said some election materials were sent out that morning before our arrival. We now asked the question that how could election materials have been sent out when none of the electoral officers were on ground. So who took the electoral materials out of this place?”
