Russia repels attack in Donetsk direction, killing up to 235 Ukrainian troops – MoD

Since the beginning of the armed crisis in Ukraine in 2014, the outskirts of Donetsk have been a battleground, while the southern Donetsk region has recently become the epicenter of the conflict due to Kiev’s attempts to cross the border between the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Zaporozhye region.

The Russian armed forces repelled one attack by Ukraine near the city of Bakhmut over the past day, eliminating up to 235 Ukrainian troops and destroying eight pieces of equipment, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
