Oborevwori govt blessing for Delta – Ovbije

*Says oil producing areas will have rapid ddevelopment

The DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ughelli North , Ethiope East and Urhobos in Patani Local Government Area, Chief Sylvester Ovbije, has reassured Deltans that the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a blessing for the state.

He made this assertion during a meeting with executives of DESOPADEC Urhobo Staff Association (DUSA) in his residence.

The association representing all DESOPADEC STAFF from Urhobo Nationality paid a congratulatory visit to the Commissioner, who is one of the representatives of the Urhobo Oil Producing Areas in the newly constituted Board of DESOPADEC.

Chief Sylvester Ovbije thanked DUSA executives for finding him worthy of a congratulatory visit. He assured the executives that the welfare of all DESOPADEC staff especially those from Urhobo Nationality will be prioritized. In his speech, the Honourable commissioner emphasized that better welfare brings about greater productivity. He charged the staff of DESOPADEC to be effective and efficient in carrying out their assigned roles, duties and responsibilities to ensure a smooth running of the commission and her affairs.

Furthermore, Chief Ovbije assured the executives that the development of Urhobo Oil Producing Areas is fundamental and thus will be realized. The commissioner said the newly constituted board have a mandate to ensure actual development reach every areas of the state, and he will ensure the Urhobo region is not left out from the rapid development that is bound to happen.

Chief Ovbije stated that the executive Governor of Delta State is well enlighten about the plights of Urhobo oil producing areas and as such, both infrastructural and human capital development will be ensue to alleviate the state of devastation of the Urhobo people akin other nationalities. He called for calmness and unity among the Urhobo DESOPADEC staff charging them to be proactive in discharge of duties.

Speaking Earlier, the President of DUSA, Chief Felix Ogboru congratulated the commissioner upon his appointment as a board member promising to work together with the board members from Urhobo Nationality to promote peace and unity among the staff of DESOPADEC. He promised that DUSA are pleased with his appointment and will provide every support necessary for him to function properly in the board.
