172 junior commanders graduate from AFSC

One hundred and seventy two army captains and their equivalents in the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force on Friday graduated from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, after a 21-week training.

Junior officers from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, civilian personnel from the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and nine students from Botswana, Cameron, Republic of Congo, The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Niger and Sierra Leone participated in the training from January 4, 2017.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Headquarters, NAF, Air Vice Marshal James Gbum, who represented the Chief of Air Staff said the objective of the course was to develop professionalism and understanding among the officers to prepare them for increasing responsibilities.

The Commandant of the college, Air Vice Marshal Suleiman Dambo, said the course was aimed at developing the command and analytical and communication skills of the students.
