New AIG Zone 5 assumes duty in Benin City

A new Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 5, AIG Arungwa Nwazue Udo, has assumed duty in Benin City.
DSP Tijani A Momoh, Zonal Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Force Zone 5 Headquarters, announced this in a statement copy of which he made available to The DEFENDER on Thursday.
According to Momoh, AIG Udo will now take charge of the Zone 5 with operational area covering State Police Commands.
“AIG ARUNGWA NWAZUE UDO, psc (+), mni hails from Abia State and was born on 7th May, 1965. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Ekiti State University, a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai, India. He also holds a Diploma Certificate in Law from the Pan African Institute of Paralegal Studies, Abuja.
“AIG ARUNGWA NWAZUE UDO, psc (+), mni enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on the 1st of March, 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, he was trained at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex, Kaduna State. He rose through the ranks and has held several appointments which include: the Divisional Traffic Officer, Bida, Niger State Police Command, the Divisional Crime Officer, Bida, Niger State Police Command.
“He was the Divisional Police Officer, GRA Division, Minna, Niger State Police Command, The Divisional Police Officer, Tudun Wada, Minna, The Divisional Police Officer, Bida, all in Niger State Police Command. He was once Commander, Mopol 16, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Area Commander, Kubwa, FCT Command, Abuja. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Admin, Force CID, Area 10, Abuja.
“Also he was posted to the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Liberal Studies. He was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, FCT Command, Abuja. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zonal Operations Department, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zonal Operations Department, Zone 9 Headquarters, Umuahia, Abia State. He was also the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, Lokoja.
“He held a stint brief as the Commissioner of Police, Admin, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja. From there he proceeded to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State, where he was awarded the prestigious member of the National Institute, (mni).
“He also served as the Commissioner of Police, Admin, Force Intelligence Bureau, from this position he was promoted to the prestigious rank of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police and deployed as the AIG Zone 5 Benin.
“In the course of his career, the AIG has attended so many professional courses, both home and abroad. These include; the Advanced Detective Course, the Junior Command Course, the Intermediate Command Course and the Senior Command Course, all at the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State. The International Police Officers’ College Course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The AIG also attended the Senior Executive Course at the NIPSS, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.
“AIG ARUNGWA NWAZUE UDO, psc (+), mni, is a fellow of so many professional bodies. He is married and blessed with children, well traveled and has visited so many countries of the world. His hobbies include Reading, Listening to good Music and watching football.
“The AIG Zone 5 Benin wish to solicit for the cooperation of the good people of the Zone, to assist the Police with useful and timely information that will enhance In checkmating crimes and criminality in the entire Zone,” the statement said.
