APC’s Sokoto wins Sokoto Governorship Election

Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Sokoto State Governorship elections held in the state on Saturday March 18, 2923.

Aliyu, immediate past deputy governor in the state, won with a total of 453,661 votes defeating his closest rival Saidu Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled a total vote of 404,632.

Aliyu Sokoto was declared Governor-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state on Sunday.
