Comrade Sani Dutsinma, according to a press statement issued by the Secretary, Zamfara State NUJ Correspondents Chapel, Abdullahi Abdulrahaman Chakwa, said, “The nine months old child was born with imperforate anus which makes it difficult for him to excrete out what he ate, this necessitated his parents to take him to federal medical center FMC Gusau for medication, but later refered them to Usumanu Danfodio Teaching hospital Sokoto.”

Father of the child, Malam Lawali Ibrahim, told the Journalists that N300,000 was spent at Usman Dan Fodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, for the child to have a temporary excretory system where he will excrete.

Malam Lawali further said that after series of medical tests and diagnosis at teaching hospital in Sokoto, N300,000 was projected for emergency operation to provide a temporary excretory system by the side of the child’s ribs.

According to him, he was left with no option than to sell his motorcycle and other properties which he is using for commercial purposes to feed the family in order to save the life of the child as his relations, who have contributed in their own little way, are also needy.

He added that they were also directed to take the child back after three months for another round of surgeries and N500,000 is required for his second and third surgeries which they do not have.

Malam Lawali therefore called on Zamfara State Government, wealthy individuals, Zakat and Endowment Board, cooperate organizations as well as Nigeria Medical Association of Nigeria, to assist to save the live of this baby.
