Navy Chief commends Police IG, Baba on achievements, leadership qualities
*As 5 new police gun boats commissioned in Lagos
*Commandant’s Quarters commissioned in Police College, Ikeja

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has been commended on his several achievements and leadership qualities since assume office.
This commendation was by the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the commissioning of projects among which were five newly acquired operational gun boats achieved by the IGP Baba-led Nigeria Police Force, in Lagos on Friday December 9, 2022.
Other projects to lined up for commissioning same day included the ultra-modern Commandant’s Quarters in Police College, Ikeja, the state capital.
At the gun boats commissioning, held at Police Marine Office, Victoria Island, Lagos, the Navy Chief commended the IGP for his special focus on acquisition of operational hardware for the Nigeria Police Force, noting that it is a worthy legacy that will effectively improve the operational capacity and capability of the Nigeria Police.
The newly commissioned five new operational gun boats acquired by the IGP, according to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, were meant for the patrols and response to emergencies on internal waterways.
The CNS, Awwal Gambo, further assured the IGP and the Police family of the Navy’s support in all areas most especially on the safety of inland waterways in Nigeria and adequate protection of lives and property of Nigerians.
The Inspector-General of Police assured of the continuous commitment of his administration to upgrading the operational assets of the Nigeria Police Force while he emphasized the importance of dedicated synergy to successfully stamping out crimes and criminality in the country.
The IGP was accompanied by the AIG Zone 2, AIG Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, Commissioner of Police Lagos, CP Abiodun Alabi, CP Jonathan Towuru, mni, and other invited dignitaries.
