Ogun Security: Police arrests 4 robbery suspects on Lagos-Ibadan highway
The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that it arrested four members of an armed robbery syndicate who had been terrorizing commuters at the Shagamu interchange axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Spokesman of the command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) made this known in a statement made available to The DEFENDER on Thursday.
The statement said “the four suspects were apprehended while robbing their victims on the night of 6th of May 2017.
“Distress call was made to the Police, and the DPO Shagamu division SP Moses Aduroja led his Anti–Robbery team to the scene where the four suspects were promptly arrested. The names of the suspects are : (1) Sulaiman Fatai ‘m’ 21yrs, (2) Ayobami Alao ‘m’ 21yrs (3) Yusuf Sodiq ‘m’ 20yrs (4) Emmanuel Adeleke ‘m’ 18yrs.
“Recovered from them are cutlasses, iron rod, knife, and other dangerous weapons. The suspects who have made confessional statement claimed to come from Oshodi in Lagos to carry out operation in Shagamu interchange.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to FSARS for discrete investigation and possible prosecution,” it said.
