Zamfara State Govt suspends Emir for conferring traditional title on bandit

The Zamfara State Government has dissociated itself from the alleged turbaning of a Sarkin Fulani, Adamu Aleru, a bandit, by the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area.

In this regard, the Governor of the state, Hon. Mohammed Bello  Matawalle, has ordered the suspension of the Emir with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna, Secretary to the State Government, and copy of which was handed to The DEFENDER in Gusau on Monday.

“Accordingly, the Executive Governor  approved the appointment of a Committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the action of the Emir,” the SSG said.

The investigative committee has Hon. Yahaya Chado Gora as Chairman with members including Hon. Yahaya Mohammed Kanoma, Hon. Muhammad Umar B/Magaji, Hon. Lawal Abubakar Zannah, Isa Muhammad Moriki, and Bar. Musa Garba as Secretary.

In the meantime, Alhaji Mahe Garba Marafa, who is the District Head of ‘Yandoto is hereby assigned to take charge of the affairs of the Emirate, according to the statement.
