ZAMFARA: Police arrests 2 electricity installation vandals, recovers vital items in Tsafe

The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested two suspects, namely : Mubarak Aliyu and Sani Ahmed, both male and 25 years of age from Wanzamai Village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
This was contain in a statement signed by SP Mohammed Shehu, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zamfara State Police Command
The arrest followed a distress call received from the Area Manager, Power Holding Company of Nigeria, popularly known as NEPA, Tsafe Branch, regarding the vandalisation of transformer and other electrical installations in Wanzamai Village.
They were said to have vandalised and Carter away large quantity of aluminium conductor wire valued at about N800,000.
Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Tsafe Division, acted on intelligence and arrested the criminal suspects in possession of large quantity of melted aluminium conductor wire.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offence and further mentioned their partners in crime now at large.
The Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba Elkanah is applying various strategies to arrest the fleeing suspects and charge them to court for prosecution.
According to our Zamfara State Correspondent, while the Command assures adequate protection of public and private installations across the state, it advised members of the public to be vigilant and report – for prompt action – any attempt to vandalise such equipment in the future.
