Chief of Army Staff visits scene of Kaduna-Abuja train attack, orders ‘search and rescue’ for kidnap victims

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, has ordered troops to intensity Search and Rescue Operations with a view to hunt down terrorists, who mastermind attack on Kaduna-Abuja train Monday night.

The Army chief gave the charge during an assessment visit to the scene on Tuesday.

General Yahaya, who was accompanied by some principal staff officers of the Army Headquarters and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, ordered troops of the Nigerian Army to work with other security agencies in intensifying their search and rescue operations so as to rescue the kidnapped victims unconditionally.

He also assured Nigerians that the troops would be undeterred and vehement in the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality in the country.
