Ganduje launches 550-km road project
Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Monday launched a 500-km rural roads project tagged Karkara Salamu Alaikum.
The program, an Integrated Rural Development Program, launched at Garun-Malam local government area of Kano state is aimed at providing access roads to rural dwellers.
Speaking on the occasion, Gavernor Ganduje said the 500-km project would be spread among the 44 local government areas of the state.
He explained that government had identified over1000-km of rural roads across the state that need total overhaul.
“We have decided to start with 550klm as the first batch and as soon as we finiahed with it, we would launch the second batch,” he assured.
He said government had spent over N50 million on the repair of heavy equipment and plants for the WRECA, KARMA and KNUPDA.
