We will shutdown Anambra State if killings, political intimidation continue, Ohanaeze Ndigbo threatens

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Wordwide has condemned the reported attack on the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, which left three policemen dead during a town hall meeting with his Isuofia community youths.
Speaking in Awka, Anambra State capital, on Thursday 1st of April 2021, the President General of the organization, Barr Basil Onyeachonam Onuorah, noted that the organization may shutdown all activities in Anambra State if the incessant killings and political intimidation continue in the state.
Barrister Onuorah, while speaking to newsmen sympathized with Prof Soludo and commiserated with the families of the late security agents.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide bemoans the attack on the renowned economist stating that the worsening insecurity situation calls for serious strategic planning to curb the menace.
“It is imperative that the security apparatus of the nation should be reviewed and reorganized to provide adequate protection to the citizens.
“The socio-economic challenges of insecurity in the nation is worsening and it is imperative to proffer a lasting solution to the lingering situation.
“We are deeply concerned about the negative impact it poses to peace, progress and hereby call for immediate response on insecurity,” the President General affirmed.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader urged Nigerians to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement around their vicinity.
Barr Onyeachonam Onuorah called for investigation, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators while condemning the abduction of the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, at the political event.
“To return peace to our nation, it is therefore pertinent to rejig the security force after series of recent assaults of unknown gunmen on the security agents” the President General concluded.
