Benue’s most wanted killer militia leader, Gana, killed – Military

“We should be fair enough to ourselves by supporting any course that will bring about peace in Nigeria and stop supporting criminal activities of evil ones among us. The military have proved their worth now that they are capable of ridding our society of all kinds of evil.  They have killed Gana now, we want more of those criminal elements either dead or alive,” he said.

The Commander of the Four Special Forces command, Doma Local Government Area, Brigadier General Maude Ali Gadzama on Tuesday confirmed the killing of Terwase Akwaza, alias Gana, Channels Televison reports.
Gadzama revealed Gana was killed Tuesday evening in a firefight with military personnel.
Surprisingly, however, the Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom, defended the killer militia leader saying soldiers snatched him from a government convoy of repentant militants in Gboko.
It is common knowledge that all Nigerians had blamed President Muhammadu Buhari, the military and the Nigerian police for complications over the activities of killer militia in Benue State until intelligence exposed Gana as the ring leader of the crisis in the North Central community already tense for usual herders and farmers clashes.
Earlier on Tuesday, Gana, along with 172 militia boys, had reportedly surrendered amid traditional rulers, priests, and local government officials in Katsina-Ala Local Government in Benue.
Governor Ortom said they were on their way to Makurdi when they were intercepted by military officials.
Ortom however did not state while repentant militiamen engaged in military personnel in gun battle if his account was correct.
In 2015, Gana was offered an amnesty but returned to his alleged criminal activities.
In 2017, the Nigerian Police declared Gana wanted after he was alleged to have killed “several innocent persons”.
The Benue State Government, at the time, placed a N10 million naira bounty on him.
The DEFENDER reports calls now at patriotic quarters for stakeholders in Nigeria to stop raising human rights issues whenever terrorists are either killed or arrested.
A source reacting to the governor’s account said, “What is observed is that this Benue leadership has complications in the crisis in the state. Recall that since security intelligence had exposed this guy, Gana as leader of militia group killing people in that state, there the focus on of the agitations shifted from Benue and now as it is also being tackled in Southern Kaduna, it is hoped they will just help themselves by stopping the wicked act.
“Don’t forget it was because of the killing in Benue that led to Christian Association of Nigeria mischievously tagging President Muhammadu Buhari as empowering his Fulani kinsmen and Boko Haram to kill Christian of Nigeria in justification of an alleged Islamisation and Northernisation Agenda they claimed was spearheaded by the President and a misrepresentation which President Donald Trump of United States of America bought from them.
