Ajimobi’s remains laid to rest in Ibadan amidst tears

The remains of former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Adeyemi Abiola Ajimobi,have been laid to rest.

The Islamic rites leading to the final burial were performed at his Oluyole Estate residence, in Ibadan, Oyo State, South West Nigeria, on Sunday.

The janazah was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyu Agbotomokekere, around 10am, two hours earlier than time hitherto announced.

The 12noon announced, we gathered, was a decore to prevent a mammoth crowd in obeying the protocols of Covid-19.

The janazah holding at his residence was also against the Ajimobi Mosque venue earlier announced.

Very few people including the children and widow, Florence, witnessed the burial.

Dignitaries who took part in the Ajimobi’s burial.

The lecture and special prayer for the deceased, however, shifted to Ajimobi Mosque at 12pm.

Ajimobi, according to announcement by family sources, died in a Lagos hospital, on Thursday June 25, 2020 at the age of 70.
