Emir of Ilorin, Sulu-Gambari, greets Sarkin Zazzau on 45th anniversary on throne
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has rejoiced with the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, on his 45 years coronation anniversary.
He also thanked the entire people of the Zazzau Emirate Council and the government and people of Kaduna for their support for the Emir in the past years.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari in a statement signed by his Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Friday described the Sarkin Zazzau as one of the foremost traditional rulers in the nation whose love and leadership qualities for his subjects has led to the development of the ancient city tremendously.
The monarch also chronicled the long reign of Shehu Idris on the throne of Zazzau Emirate Council as a divine favour from Allah to the nation, especially Zaria and Kaduna State in general due to his wise counsels, tolerance and promotion of peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups living in the state.
“As a brother and outstanding monarch, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Idris, in the last 45 years, has given his people the best leadership qualities, demonstrated high sense of love and patriotism to the nation and I am convinced that he shall continue to do more for sustainable peace in the nation.
“I hereby use this auspicious moment to thank Almighty Allah for the journey so far and I wish him many more years on the throne with sound health and wisdom always”, the Emir added.
