Sagir Bafarawa, Abdussamad Dasuki, 24 others make list as Tambuwal nominates commissioners-designate to Assembly

Report reaching The DEFENDER says names of 26 nominees have been transmitted by Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, to the state’s House of Assembly for legislative screening and confirmation as commissioners.

The state’s Assembly reportedly confirmed this on Saturday.

Among those who make the fresh list are Sagir, the eldest son of former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Abdulsamad Dasuki who is the son of late Sultan of Sokoto and member of the 8th National Assembly.

Also on the list were the outgoing Speaker of Sokoto State House of Assembly, Salihu Maidaji and the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bashir Garba, as well as many other people who served as commissioners during Tambuwal’s first term.

Governor Tambuwal had in the letter to the Assembly said the persons so recommended for the appointments were of proven integrity and dedication who have served the state and nation in various capacities.
