We are ready to receive President Buhari – Kwara APC
The Kwara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says it is ready to receive President Muhammadu Buhari on a campaign visit on Monday in Ilorin.
Alhaji Moshood Mustapha, Chairman, State Working Committee on the visit of the President, addressing a news conference on Sunday said everything was set for the visit of Buhari to the state.
He spoke just as Chairman, Canada-based Kwara for Abdulrahman 2019 Group, Mr. Waheed Seriki, told The DEFENDER Sunday afternoon that he had arrived Nigeria and in Ilorin ahead of President Buhari’s campaign visit of Monday 11 February 2019.
Mustapha added that all committees and subcommittees put in place for the visit have been working round the clock to ensure that it is hitch-free.
According to Mustapha, who is the chairman, media subcommittee, the people of the state were anxious to receive the president because of the laudable achievements of the Federal Government under his leadership.
“Four years ago, the whole of Kwara was in neglect in the hands of the PDP led government at the center. Today, the state has benefitted immensely from the Buhari led administration,” he said.
According to him, over 10, 350 people in the state have benefitted from Buhari’s various interventions and empowerment programmes.
Mustapha added that the impact of the Buhari led administration was particularly felt in the state in the area of infrastructure, particularly roads construction and rehabilitation.
He said travel on the Ilorin-Jebba road which use to take motorists over five hours now take less than one hour as a result of the president’s intervention.
Mustapha also listed Share-Patigi-Kpada road as well as Erinle to Osun boundary as some of the roads rehabilitated by the administration.
The chairman appealed to the people to come out massively to receive the President and his entourage.
He also appealed to the people to be peaceful, law abiding and to conduct themselves in orderly manner during the visit.
“Let us showcase to the president that Kwara people are peace loving and accommodating,” Mustapha said.
