Nigerians in South Africa laud Buhari over completion of Abuja Light
“We celebrate the President for his commitment to improving infrastructural facilities regardless of numerous challenges facing our country now. I have seen for myself the ongoing massive infrastructural development in Nigeria during my traveling to different states this period.”
The President of Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA), Mr Adetola Olubajo, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s government for the completion of the Abuja light rail project, which was inaugurated on Thursday.
Olubajo in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja said the project would benefit Nigerians living in Abuja as it will ease traffic congestion in the city.
“We celebrate the President for his commitment to improving infrastructural facilities regardless of numerous challenges facing our country now.
“I have seen for myself the ongoing massive infrastructural development in Nigeria during my traveling to different states this period.
“Though a lot still needed to be done, we need to applaud steps in the right direction and encourage this administration to do more,” he said.
He said that the opposition should put genuine pressure on the present government officials to keep them on their toes and not trying to score political points.
The union urged President Buhari to extend the development to Lagos State because of worst traffic challenges in the State.
“We believe that if Lagos has good railway facilities coupled with the one embarked upon by state government, both land and water transport systems, life would be made easier.
“Also, economic activities will improve and more foreign investment would be seen in Lagos and neighboring states.
“Most importantly, the standard of living of our people will improve as there will be more job opportunities and more revenue for the government.(NAN)
