Ogun Police nabs 3 MTN mast vandals
Three men specializing in telecommunication network mast vandalism have been arrested by the police in Ogun State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known in a statement he issued in Abeokuta on Monday.
Oyeyemi said three men were arrested for vandalizing the Mast of Telecommunication giant MTN at Ode-Remo in Remo North Local Government of the State.
“The trio of Balogun Lukman ‘m’ 38 years a resident of No.3 K & S Street, Ikotun, Lagos, Sunday Kayode ‘m’ 39 years resident of Isheri Compound Lagos and Atanda Abiodun ‘m’ of No.25 Egbeda/Akowonjo Road, Bakery bus-stop Lagos were arrested on the 27th of April by Police patrol team of Ishara Division led by the DPO CSP Yusuf Taiwo.
“The suspects who came with a blue coluor Ford bus with Reg. No OYO NRK 842 XA were sighted at the Mast around 02:00am with the vandalized parts of the mast, which includes three heavy duty batteries and small cutters. On sighting the Policemen, they all took to their heel but were pursued and arrested by the Policemen while two amongst them escaped.
“The Commissioner of Police Cp Ahmed Iliyasuhas ordered a full scale investigation into the case with the view of arresting the escaped suspects and charges them to court as soon as possible,” the statement said.
